There’s More To Rosendal Than Wine & Leisure

At Rosendal Winery & Wellness Retreat we embrace our social responsibility towards employees, community, clients, the environment and public in general. For this reason we take accountability for our actions and our mission is to encourage a positive impact through all our activities … We Love, We Give, We Care

Rosendal believes in encouraging a corporate culture where employees receive the opportunity to enhance their skills, not only for the business’ interest but their own well-being and development as well.

Phindiwe Magida, Rosendal Winery’s Admin Assistant in Cape Town, has recently completed a Professional Receptionist and PA certificate at Damelin College with great success.

“Firstly, thanks to Geir for believing in and giving me a chance to upgrade my skills. It is a great opportunity for me to study this PR & PA course. I appreciated so much! It means Rosendal really cares about people, it doesn’t matter if you are a staff member or not, it takes care of everyone. The course I completed meant a lot to me because I have learnt many things that I implement every day at the company. I now have more experience and knowledge on how to deal with clients and customers, how to handle every situations in a professional manner, to be calm and friendly. So it is incredible for me to be a part of the Rosendal Team. Thank you very much for all the support and advice I get from Rosendal.”- Phindiwe Magida

Training and Employment

Rosendal Staff

Rosendal Winery & Wellness Retreat Staff

Rosendal is known for its fantastic staff and services. It is therefore a great pleasure to not only train local community members in the hospitality industry (Guesthouse, Spa and Restaurant), but also give them the chance to work and gain experience in the field. Rosendal Boutique‘s products are very special in that it’s sourced from within the Robertson Wine Valley. Many of the items available are made by local community members and this enables them to not only learn new skills but also use them to generate their own income.

“What a privilege it is for Rosendal to not only provide customers with excellent services in all its facets, but also give back to its community! We truly appreciate your support and look forward to continuing a wonderful journey together.”Geir Tellefsen

Klaasvoogds Primary is a small farm school that serves an impoverished rural community near Robertson. The ongoing support of Rosendal’s valued customers enables it to maintain its Outreach Programme, with the main beneficiary being Klaasvoogds Primary School and its 200 learners – all children of local farmworkers.

The Rosendal Farm School Fund was established 7 years ago by Geir and Sissel Tellefsen, shortly after their arrival from Norway to start their life’s dream. Its aim is to improve the quality and standard of the school’s education.

In order to achieve this Rosendal has among other things:

  • Paid for a full time teacher for the past 5 years
  • Provided Norwegian teachers for a number of terms
  • Supported the Pre-school with substantial material resources
  • Partnered the Pre-school with a Norwegian Pre-school, encouraging contact between the children
  • Enabled the school with security and other needs required to enable it to qualify for government funding of a state of the art IKATA computer room
  • Coordinated the contributions of European tourists for distribution at the school
  • Assisted with ongoing help when day-to-day needs are required
  • Donated food, clothes and stationary
